How often in our lifetimes are we given an opportunity to do something truly significant? Such events are rare, but when they come along, we have to cherish them, as they will impact us for the rest of our lives. I’m not talking about menial accomplishments such as graduation, marriage, and having children…I’m talking about the Camp Reach for the Sky Flashlight blog. Relationships, jobs, money, they come and go. The CR4TS blog is forever.
It’s no secret that Camp Reach for the Sky is one of the best camps that Planet Earth has to offer. It allows the most deserving children a chance to be normal, and accomplish things most said were impossible. But you already know this. What you don’t know is how much better your life can be if you contribute to the official camp blog. Along with song lyrics, updates and news regarding the camp, the blog provides an opportunity for campers and counselors to share their experiences, thus spreading the word and strengthening the CR4TS army. There are blogs online for just about anything. Whether it is celebrity gossip, sports, yo-yoing, or giraffes, you can find a disgustingly massive amount of information for whatever your achy breaky heart desires.
If you are currently involved in Camp Reach for the Sky, use the blog as a chance to document your favorite stories and memories. If you are new to Camp, you can use the blog as a chance to learn and get a feel for the core values, ideas, and traditions that make us number one. If you have absolutely no association with Camp Reach for the Sky, I have no idea how/why you are reading this and you should probably reevaluate your use of time. Let’s face it, as fun as Facebook and YouTube can be, watch one less Aaron Carter music video and check out Flashlight.
Now, picture yourself on an oak rocking chair, surrounded by your grandchildren. When they simultaneously yell “tell me a story,” you don’t want to be forced into a spiral of regret. You want to tell them how much fun you had writing and reading the CR4TS blog. Sure, your other bookmarks may get jealous of all the time you spend on the blog, but as an avid subscriber, I will verify that it is a worthy sacrifice. So spread the word.
