Hooray For Hollywood!

Well folks, it’s the New Year and Relay season is upon us once again! Last year was a major success for Camp and Relay, and this year Camp Row will be back in full effect! The Relay For Life of Mira Mesa/Rancho Penasquitos committee is hard at work planning this year’s festivities, where the theme will be Hooray for Hollywood, so make sure you’re ready to act like full on celebrities at this shindig. In case you didn’t know, Camp superstars play a major role in Relay: Elf is the Entertainment Chair, Sami is Food Chair, Flame will be gracing us with his dj’ing skills, and Madrid will be acting an absolute fool, as usual.

We’re looking for campers, counselors, supporters, friends, family, paparazzi, movie moguls, and anyone else who is willing to come out to this year’s Relay and help us build Camp Row into a mega-show to let the community know how this event helps programs like Camp, and how Camp supports all other ACS programs.

Here are a couple of important dates to remember:

• This Saturday, January 7, 2012 – 12pm to 2pm – Relay Kickoff BBQ at Hilltop Community Park (9711 Oviedo Way, San Diego, 92129)
• Teams can sign up for FREE, so if you haven’t already signed up your team, here’s your chance to do it on the cheap!
• These are the camp teams already signed up: Big Cat Mambo, California Gurls, Campaholics, Kern’s Camp Krew, and the FOBS (Family/Friends of Bob)
• April 15, 2012 – 6pm to 9pm – DoubleTree Golf Resort San Diego (14455 Penasquitos Dr., San Diego, 92129) – Relay Cancer Survivor and Caregiver Tea – Oscar Party theme
• We’re going to get gussied up and celebrate our Hollywood theme with an Oscar party themed soiree for cancer survivors and caregivers
• The red carpet will be rolled out, so be ready to get down!
• May 19-20, 2012 – 9am to 9am – the moment we’ll all be waiting for! Relay For Life of Mira Mesa/Rancho Penasquitos – Hilltop Community Park (9711 Oviedo Way)
• The culmination of all of our planning. Come help Camp Row be the superstars of our Hollywood celebration for everyone impacted by cancer!
