VOLUNTEERING for CR4TS!!!

Camp Reach for the Sky programs are staffed by a group of tremendously dedicated, honorable volunteers who like to have fun.  These volunteers undergo special training that familiarizes them with the needs of this special population of campers.  Many of our volunteers are themselves cancer survivors and siblings of cancer survivors (some are even former campers!) and serve as an inspiration to all.  Many are also medical professionals who enjoy being counselors and seeing the campers in a nonmedical environment.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for Camp Reach for the Sky in 2012 you must first meet the following requirements:
1- You must be available to volunteer at camp for the entire week you are applying for.
2- Must meet the minimum age requirement for the week you are applying for. Sibling Camp=19 Resident Oncology Camp=19 Day Camp=16
3- Must attend the volunteer staff trainings.

Please understand that volunteer space is limited.  We are unable to take everyone that applies to volunteer for CR4TS. With this in mind, the application process is highly competitive.

NEXT STEP?
Visit www.cr4ts.org to print out the volunteer packet.  After you have completed your packet mail it to the following address:

American Cancer Society
c/o CR4TS
2655 Camino del Rio North, Suite 100
San Diego, CA 92108

Background checks will be run after we receive your completed packet.
NEW APPLICANTS-In late February/early March a camp representative will call you to schedule a time to come in for an interview.

We respect the need for you to make adjustments in your work/school/summer schedule in order to be there for the campers at CR4TS.  Our goal is to have our volunteer staff across all three sessions completed by April.  So the time to apply is NOW.

Please feel free to contact us regarding any questions you may have about volunteering.

  1. Thanks for telling us about this great volunteer opportunity! Only recently I've found that there are thousands of charities and organizations that provide volunteer opportunities for passing travelers. Did you know about them? I recommend you reading this post http://www.agsinger.com/how-to-travel-and-help-people/ if you are interested in helping people in need and have passion for traveling.
