With last year's successful introduction of the universal camp theme, we have decided to do the same this season. Hopefully with this early unveiling, you can begin thinking of outfits - ensuring a summer with more spirit than you know what to do with! So, without further ado…the 2012 Camp Reach for the Sky Theme is...
TIME WARP!
B.C. (Before Camp): here's your chance to dress in any time period that was before your first year at camp. Want to travel back to the stone age? Yabadaba go for it! Want to rock that afro and bell bottoms? Bring it on! This is your chance to be creative!
Ancient Greece/Rome: Being the year of the summer Olympics, we will hold our own games in Olympic/Gladiator fashion. So unmake your bed and throw on that toga, because these games of the Gods will be more epic than 300!
Wild Wild West: Well partner, it's time to take ten steps, turn around, and get ready for the biggest hoedown in Camp history. Just don't end up on a wanted posted, as the old Camp Jail isn't a pleasant place.
Party Like It's 1983: For those of you who don't know, this year is the 30th anniversary of Camp Reach for the Sky…and we are gonna celebrate in style. Grab your gold chain, matching gold gazelles and Adidas track suit and get ready for the best 80s birthday party you've ever been too!
Back to the Future: Whether you're an alien or a robot, camp is taking a trip into the future and it's gonna be out of this world. Anything post-2012 will fly!
The more you guys go all out with the themes, the more fun the camp environment will be, guaranteed! We have tons of activities for you guys that pertain to the various time periods, so get your best costumes and be stoked! Keep in mine camp dress code (especially close-toed shoes) when you put your outfits together.
(please note that the specific dates of each theme will vary from camp to camp, aligning with already planned activities and traditions.)
In order to make these themes days even better, we have compiled a wish list of items that we need. If you or anyone you know has some sort of hook-up with any of these supplies, please let us know, as it would be greatly appreciated.
