One thing I love about Camp Reach for the Sky (out of the other million things I love about it), is when campers come back as counselors and get to see the world from the other side. It is a special club and Alejandro is one of its members. After 10 years as a camper, this will be his 3^rd year as a Resident Oncology Camp counselor, where he is part of the magical chaos that is Teen Valley.

“CR4TS is the greatest week every year. I make sure to revolve my year around camp.”

Looking forward to the 2012 season, Alejandro is excited for the entire week. “It’s hard to just choose one thing.” So true! Every moment, the extraordinary to the most subtle, is what makes CR4TS the BEST and GREATEST camp ever, and why we staffers come back year after year.

Alejandro favors meal time as his favorite camp activity; “it’s the perfect time to meet new campers and staff.” Along that same train of thought, he also fondly remembers the camp food fight, back in early 2000, as a favorite camp memory. Favorite Camp Song? Big Camp Mambo (a definite all camp fav). And favorite camp costume?  “My favorite costume by far is the CampStreet Boys (I heard there were rumors of a reunion tour).”

And as all staff can relate to, Alejandro catches up on sleep before and after a week at Camp, which is really the best and only way to exit Wonderland. “I am still trying to re-enter reality from last year.” Aren’t we all…
