YES on Prop 29!

On Friday night, the tobacco industry pumped an additional $13,900,000 into its lie-machine. They want even more Californians to see their special spokesdoctor, Dr. Porter, deliver their deceitful messages. Tobacco companies know Prop 29 will stop kids from smoking, and it hits their profits.

Big Tobaco believes Californians are stupid. Big Tobacco also believes California’s democracy is for sale.
In 2006, the tobacco companies offered a cardiologist $10,000 to act as a spokesdoctor for their campaign to kill a cigarette tax. That doctor valued his Hippocratic Oath and declined.
But Big Tobaco somehow convinced Dr. Porter to appear in their ads, and together they killed the last tobacco tax and kept the tobacco industry's profits intact.

UCSF Professor Stanton Glantz projected Prop 29 will cost the east-coast tobacco industry $804M every year... if Prop 29 passes, that money stays in California, over 200,000 kids never become smokers and California will lead the search for cures for cancers and other tobacco-related diseases.
