Your Seany's CR4TS Mayday Update

This blog post is full of info, so read til the end! Important news and updates ahead!!!

ATTENTION CAMP FAMILY, if you haven’t heard the news, let me be the first to tell you, The Seany Foundation is bringing back one of our flagship events: Seany Movie Night! We are back better than ever with an exclusive chance to see the new Jurassic Park film: Jurassic World before it opens! That’s right we get to see Chris Pratt in all his glory, plus a host of dinosaurs! Seany Movie Night is a great way to give back to camp and all of the other Seany Foundation programs you love while spending a night out with your friends and family.

When is this great event you ask? Thursday June 11, 2015 at 7pm.
Where? At the Ultrastar Theater in Hazard Center
How do I attend? Simple. Please click this link to buy tickets.
What do I get with my ticket?

General Admission- the bragging rights of seeing Jurassic World before all of your friends (unless you invite them, which you should!) without having to wait in crazy lines or staying up until midnight, popcorn, candy and a soda and the knowledge that your night of fun helped benefit camp! ($45)

VIP Admission- all of the perks of General Admission plus a reserved seat in the theater. This means sitting in the best seats of the house without having to wait in line early to sit there! ($65)

Sponsor-A-Kid- Can’t make it to Movie Night but still want to give back? Attending, but want to sponsor anyway? If you choose to sponsor a kid, a child from one of our local children’s hospitals will receive a general admission ticket, allowing them to attend the event free of charge! ($45)

Sponsor-A-Family- Exactly like Sponsor-A-Kid, but instead you make it possible for a family of four to attend the event free of charge. ($180)

So come one, come all to Seany Movie Night! Get pumped for the start of the camp season by spending an evening of fun with your camp family, while giving back to your home away from home!

In other Seany Foundation news, this Friday The Seany Foundation is celebrating a very special day: it is the birthday of one our founders- the inestimable Mitch Robins!

Originally from Michigan, Mitch has called San Diego home since 1991. Mitch has been working to enhance the lives of kids, teens and young adults affected by cancer since the inception of The Seany Foundation in 2006. And in 2013 when ACS completed their 30+ year run of camp, Mitch was instrumental in saving camp and bringing it under The Seany Foundation umbrella in 2014!

Mitch loves going out to eat, watching Game of Thrones, and drinking lemonade as long as it’s not pink. So in celebration of his birthday and for all of his work to keep camp alive for all of us, why not do one of the three in his honor? If those don’t suit your tastes, why not watch his favorite movie Defending Your Life or eat some key lime pie? Or take some time out of your day to tell a story and have a laugh with your friends and family- I’m sure Mitch will!

Also on the agenda (and hopefully all of your calendars) is the 5th Annual Swinging for Seany Golf Tournament on Monday June 22nd. The event will once again be held at the exclusive Farms Golf Club, so it’s a great chance to play at a member’s only course while benefitting your favorite charity and favorite programs like camp!

The tournament is the day after Father’s Day, so it could be a great gift for all of the fathers and father figures in your life. But don’t forget to tell your associates, business partners and that random relative who golfs because this event is not one to miss! Tickets include a free morning massage, lunch, dinner, cocktail hour and of course the chance to play at the Farms.  To purchase tickets (as singles or foursomes) or for more information Click on this link for more information on Golf.

We are proud to announce the launch of our new leadership mentoring program.  In an effort to strengthen the way our leadership team function, we have added "Co" leadership positions to the Camp Director, Program Director, Head Counselor, and LIT Coordinator roles.  Our programs continue to be highly successful within the cancer community.  Seany's Camp Reach for the Sky will continue its success with these future leaders in place.  Please join me in welcoming the new leadership teams for camp this year.
